Giddy Up Pardner and head to Cave Creek when you’re ready for some good ‘ol Western Fun!
In terms of real estate, Cave Creek has a great mixture of options. Everything from horse properties, to mountain view homes, gated communities, new construction homes, condos, townhomes and suburban developments. The area has grown quite a bit in the last few years with added shopping and dining and infrastructure, but the “old town” section of Cave Creek remains pretty much the same…thank goodness.
You’ll find people riding their horse to dinner and plenty of cowboy boots and Harley riders!
Here’s the skinny on some of our favorite stomping grounds in Cave Creek!
Cartwright’s – Excellent steak dinner with all the fixin’s. Think cowboy elegant!
Harold’s – Get your dancing boots on or stop by to watch their team…the Steeler’s!
El Encanto – Great mexican food, but the charm is in the setting. The kiddo’s will love to feed the ducks and swans that swim in the pond. Get a pond-side table if you can.
Buffalo Chip Saloon – Take the family or better yet a group of families on a night when they have Buffalo Riding…usually Wednesday and Friday, but check before you go. You’ll feel like you’re at a cowboy cookout and rodeo all in one. Adults will also enjoy dancing and live music several nights of the week and you can watch with your fellow Green Bay Packers fans whenever they’re playing.
Local Jonny’s – Known for coffee, food, beer and wine. We love to stop in for coffee and breakfast, but we highly recommend a glass of wine and their pub board.
Big Earl’s – Best Cheeseburger in town and might get added to our Best Hamburger list, but we need to go try one more first. It has an old fashioned kitschy feel..reminds us a bit of the Cars Movies.
Tonto Bar & Grill – Located in the Rancho Manana Resort, you’ll love the “Arizona” twist on your favorite fare. They use seasonal ingredients that are harvested on the property, so it has a farm to table flare too. They offer a casual atmosphere, but yet a special occasion type of feel…best of both worlds. Try to start your evening with cocktails before sunset and enjoy the sunset colors dancing around the patio.
Hideaway Grill & Roadhouse – If you’re looking for a biker bar, then these are the top two spots to check out. You’ll see the line-up of bikes out front before you see the restaurant signs. These are especially popular destinations for Biketoberfest and Bike Week!
Oregano’s – If you’re hankering for a Bowl O’Pasta, then this is your spot!
The Meat Market – If you feel like cooking at home, stop by The Meat Market for the finest selection from the butcher. This is the best butcher around!
The Town Dump – If you’re looking for that special something to add decor flair, then stop here to see what you might find. It’s like a high end flea market and antique store all in one. I’ve made a few purchases here myself and we love just walking around and checking out their cool stuff.
Last, but not least, be sure to visit Frontier Town. It’s a throwback to the cowboy era with cute shops and cowboy props all around. The kids will love it and great photo opportunities too!
