Arcadia is one of our favorite neighborhoods in the Valley of the Sun.
The geography of what is technically Arcadia vs. Arcadia “Lite” has become a bit blurred, but basically if you’re in between Scottsdale Road & 32nd Street and in between just north of Camelback to just south of Indian School…you’re in the Arcadia & Arcadia Lite neighborhood.
In terms of real estate, this area boasts grassy front yards, lush landscaping, larger yards and front porches with adirondack chairs. Some neighborhoods I would refer to as transitional. There are older homes, homes being renovated and lots that have been leveled and new homes constructed. The overall flavor of the area is quaint and charming. It’s a great location for proximity to a live, work, play lifestyle. The canal offers a great walking and biking path and you’ll see people riding their bike to get their morning coffee or afternoon happy hour regularly.
This area is a big draw for people who want to be near of the hub of fantastic shopping and dining. There is great shopping minutes from home. With the Biltmore Fashion Park on the west side and Scottsdale Fashion Square to the east of the neighborhood, plus fun boutiques in between. The restaurant choices are endless and fantastic.
The classic favorites include:
T Cook’s – Located in the Royal Palms Resort, this is a great special occasion restaurant. Rich in history and class, the ambiance here is old world fabulous. Make a reservation and get there early to take some photos. The photo ops are endless with the beautiful palm trees, water fountains and lush landscaping! If you go when the weather is permitting, you’ll love the back patio by the fireplace. Charm, elegance, beauty and fabulous food.
Lon’s – The historic Hermosa Inn home to Lon’s and Lon’s Last Drop. A beautiful setting for brunch, lunch or dinner. Start your experience with a handcrafted cocktail..we recommend the Palo Cristi Sour. If you’re a foodie, you’ll love this place! The waiter will describe the menu in the most poetic fashion. Enjoy!
Chelsea’s Kitchen – We love to sit by the fireplace, on the patio, on a crisp fall day. The best!
Postino – The garage doors open up and welcome you to enjoy fabulous bruschetta – get the Brie and Apples with Fig!
La Grande Orange – Arcadia is known for Orange Trees….so there you go! We love to stop by for cute gifts, in addition to grabbing a sandwich or salad on the go, afternoon pick-me-up baked good treat or morning coffee and breakfast burrito. For dinner, this is the best pizza in the area!
Our other favorite spots include:
The Porch – Check it out:
The Henry – We love this menu with great appetizers for sharing, including the best guacamole with pistachio nuts! The indoor seating is great, but we love the patio setting. They also have a great grab and go coffee bar!
Steak 44 – This is located on 44th…hence the name! Great bar atmosphere for a quick drink or hanging out with friends. For dining…Ask to see if you can sit in the room behind the kitchen. You’ll have a great view of the kitchen and it’s fun to see the chef’s in action! The classic filet is fantastic, but you really can’t go wrong with anything here!
Doughbird – Another fabulous Sam Fox restaurant! I know it may sound crazy, but they have the BEST cauliflower mash! We also love the Chicken & Avocado Salad and the salmon!
Creamistry – There is one located at Scottsdale Fashion Square and one in the Doughbird shopping center. We recommend the Organic cookie butter with marshmallow mix-in!
