We’ve been visiting Prescott (pronounced Press-kit) for years. I first started visiting before Jake was even born. This is a great day trip. It takes just a little over an hour to drive there and you can enjoy the mountain views, cooler temperatures and historic feel.
On your way there, you’ll probably notice some little produce stands and farm shops. You should stop by for some fresh selections to take home with you.
Once you’re in Historic Prescott, you’ll want to walk around the Square in the middle of town and enjoy Whiskey Row. You’ll see some old fashioned western restaurants and shops. You can get a sarsparilla and feel taken back in time.
In recent years, there has been a shift towards some restaurants with a more “foodie flair.” Located just a block off the square in Historic Prescott, you we love The Barley Hound. Be sure to order the truffle fries and something in one of their Jars. Their menu changes frequently and they also have a great selection of fun beers.
You’ll see the Rock Springs exit off the I17. It’s just north of Anthem, so even if you don’t make it to Prescott, this is a cute cafe to stop in for lunch and grab a pie to go.
There are so many great places to visit just a short drive from the Valley of the Sun! Enjoy all that Arizona has to offer! Looking for more tips, contact Holly at 480-266-8785 or Holly@Henbest.com.
