For the bulk of the year, our weather is amazing and one of the best ways to enjoy it is dining outside on a patio.
There are so many wonderful patio dining experiences to chose from, but here are a few of our favorites.
Lon’s At The Hermosa Inn
Nestled in Paradise Valley, Lon’s is located at the award-winning Hermosa Inn. The lush landscaping surrounds you and the views of Camelback will welcome you. The handcrafted cocktails from Lon’s Last Drop are not only yummy, but beautiful. The restaurant is great for entertaining out of town guests and you’ll love brunch, lunch or dinner. Any time of day is a good time!
Located in Kierland Commons, you’ll feel transported to a quaint Parisian village. Sitting on the patio with a glass of wine, fromage and charcuterie…it’s a must do. The mussels are also fantastic and the onion soup…tres magnifique!
This is a long-time favorite in Central Phoenix. The menu is a bit eclectic and the patio is also dog friendly. Our favorites are the Kale Caesar, Market Fish (Salmon is always superb), Loaded Chips and Pork Ribs. If you can handle a little bit of sweet after dinner, then head next door to Churn. You’ll thank us later.
Overlooking the Grayhawk Golf Course, you’ll love the various patio areas to chose from. You can sit at the outside bar, at a high-top table, regular table or comfy couches. The inside tables are nice too, as two walls of the restaurant are basically open-air, so even the inside tables feel outside. That being said…our favorite is being at an actual patio table. The golf course views, sunset views and evening ambiance are all fantastic! When you order, consider a Moscow Mule and their Salt & Pepper Shrimp and/or Roasted Beet Salad. The Prosciutto Pizza is pretty fab too!
I love all the Postino locations, but my favorite location is the original in Arcadia. My runner-up location is the Kierland location. A glass of wine, bruschetta and patio dining are perfection. Be sure to get our favorites…Brie & Apples with Fig and Prosciutto with Figs & Mascarpone. The Bellini is pretty great too!
Located in Cave Creek, this is a great spot…especially for large groups, families and little kiddos. The centerpiece of the restaurant is the patio dining next to a duck pond. The kids can not only enjoy watching the ducks, but feeding the ducks too! My son loved this when he was little. It was great entertainment for the whole group. Reservations are recommended and the weekends are very busy. While you’re there, you can also walk around Cave Creek and explore the “western town” feel and cute shops.
With views of Camelback and the gorgeous patio setting, this is a great spot to stop in for Happy Hour or a special dinner experience. Famous for their Sticky Buns, you’ll also love their Santa Barbara Mussels and Truffle Fries! This patio is a great combination of “Old School Scottsdale” with updated flair!
Located at High Street in Desert Ridge, this is a great wine bar. The Truffled Mushroom pizza is a fan favorite!
Located at High Street in Desert Ridge…and across from La Bocca. We love this patio and the mexican fare. The street tacos are fantastic and we always order the dip duo and salsa flight. The patio is great for a small gathering or you can reserve for larger groups…we’ve held birthday parties here! Be sure to check out our Favorite Margarita’s page here too…the Hot Mango is a Modern Margarita specialty!
JW Marriott Resort at Desert Ridge
This is a year-round favorite. Sit around the fire pit or just enjoy the patio and water feature view. You’ll feel whisked away on vacation when you stop by for a drink.
Grayhawk Golf Club – Quill Creek Cafe
Located in Grayhawk on Thompson Peak Parkway, in between Hayden and Pima. This is not only a great golf course, but the restaurant is a gem of the area. With great views of the mountains, in addition to the water and golf course views! This is one of our favorite lunch spots. Pull up a chair and enjoy the view, along with the Grayhawk Salad!
The Living Room
Several locations around town, including our favorite in DC Ranch. This is a great place to gather with friends and enjoy light fare (they have a seasonal menu) and a great cocktail or glass of wine. Perfect patio seating.
Located on Central in Uptown Phoenix. This pizza joint is not just pizza. Great appetizers and salads too! After dinner, walk across the street to Churn for dessert!
Other patio favorites include:
- Chelsea’s Kitchen in Arcadia – The Brussels Sprout Salad and Del Mar Salad – yum!
- Culinary Dropout at The Yard and Scottsdale Fashion Square – Get the pretzel appetizer and the mussels! If you visit The Yard location you can enjoy activities like corn hole and ping pong!
- Stock and Stable in Central Phoenix – Great for brunch too!
- O.H.S.O. – With several locations this is a great place for lunch, happy hour or dinner, plus enjoy activities like corn hole and ping pong!
